With all this talk of food and cooking, I thought it best to feature the room where it all happens, the kitchen…it has been nicknamed “the heart of the home” and for good reason…it is where the rhythm of the day begins…where we nourish our bodies and feed our soul…have you ever asked yourself why we all end up in the kitchen on Thanksgiving Day? (and it’s not just to steal an extra piece of mom’s stuffing!)…somehow the act of cooking brings us closer together…it inspires stimulating conversation, singing, laughter, and love…a place where life unfolds…

I could make some magic in these kitchens!
Wonderful photos!!! I especially love the one with a photo that looks a lot like my Sugarfoot in it!!
Thanks for posting these — they are so inspiring. I love the open shelving, gracious tables and fireplaces, as well as the friendly mix of modern and vintage elements. I’m usually attracted to more color, but kitchens have enough going on and these rooms all have a soothing, welcoming quality that the white really enhances.
What a wonderful post Danielle! I love the photos ………….
love old world style kitchens..that’s the style I want for my next house..love the open fireplace and hearth..simply gorgeous.
the first image with the black stoneware is gorgeous too..
yes the kitchen is where it’s at..certainly in my house when my kids were still at home..and it’s that way when they come back from college for visits..
it’s also where the food is and kids expect that mom will still feed them..
it’s a comfort thing..and I’m happy to oblige..
best,
maureen
