Today’s post features an east coast Georgian Estate designed by Kathleen Clements and Briggs Edward Solomon…I thought this home would be an interesting comparison/contrast to yesterday’s Hollywood Hills ranch…the grand architectural details clearly dictate a more traditional attitude but even so, I can easily recognize their artful, uncluttered approach to the overall interior design…for me, both properties express a deep respect for proportion, form, texture, and materials…a formula that seems to work for them in any environment…it certainly works for this uncluttered beauty

The first photo drew me in, and the other rooms certainly hold beautiful pieces, rugs and drapery. The floors and lighting fixtures are also lovely. However…..there is a sense of presence and completion that seems to be lacking in this house, at least to me. It’s almost as if the rooms are still waiting for a touch of something personal to bring them to life.
