I’m heading to Provincetown today and could not be more excited! Of course, one of my first stops will be to the Packard Gallery! In anticipation of my upcoming adventure, I thought I’d share with you a few of my favorite Anne Packard paintings from her current collection. Wishing you a wonderful weekend! See you Monday!
“My paintings have nothing to do with nature. It’s something to do with forever going… the space behind the sky… the space behind the shadow. It’s an inner world [of] emotion and yearning. I yearn to express solitude.” ~ Anne Packard

“I yearn to express solitude.” I think she got it, spot on, in the first and fourth photos!
Thanks for sharing these lovely paintings. I too love Packard’s
work and so appreciate her comment about the paintings representing “the space behind the sky and the shadow”.
Having lived in the Southwest most of my life, the desert has much of the same meaning to many out here as the clouds and water seem to have for her.
Enjoy your time in Provincetown.
Her painting are so soothing for the soul! Thank you for sharing with us!
