A THOUGHTFUL EYE is my exploration of the visual world. As a classical musician, I embark on this journey from a unique perspective. My passion for art and interiors comes from the most genuine place. As a self educated interior designer and photographer, I have soaked in all I know from books, magazines, museums, art galleries, antique shops, home and design stores, fashion and of course websites and design blogs! I’m excited to meet new people, hear their personal stories and above all, live a life filled with all things beautiful!
Yea Nellie!
Love the name change…it’s the little things. Great quality on screen of the sepia prints. Magnificent!

Danielle,
Very similar to your own love of beautiful objects and warm colors. I could move right in!!!!
Danielle,
The glass votives are so beautiful! Have you made prints of these pictures?
thanks karen! I may re-shoot them with my 35mm…I love the digital camera for web based application but it just can’t compete with the traditional 35mm black and white film, hand developed, dark room prints…the depth of expression is unparalled!
How nice to have an online, spacious refuge … all feels right with the world on this site, Danielle…thank you!
thank you janet! it’s been an amazing journey so far! i plan to post about the concert on friday!

Many thanks! best, Danielle
I just discovered your site and really like it. It’s informative, chic, great.
I created the French edition of AD and then was at the head of Maison Française.
I suggest you look into the work of two interior architects. The first one is Pierre Yovanovitch who is one of the highlights of style in France today. The second is New York based Sandra Nunnerley who creates modern interiors with no hard edges.
If you are interested, don’t hesitate to contact me. I’d be happy to help with photos etc…
Best, Alexandra
Dear Alexandra,
What a wonderful surprise to receive your lovely comment! Many thanks for your kind words of support and for your two recommendations! I will definitely follow up with posts and wonder if it would be possible to post about you as well? Please let me know…thank you!
all the best,
Danielle
Hi Danielle,
This is Taylor Wilson again. I find your blog post really interesting. I like your sense of taste in interior design. I’d like to contact you further – please e-mail me at taylor.w@arcadianhome.com

Hi Danielle! I’m pretty sure this is you – forgive me if it’s not. I thought of you the other day after a walk to my local Trader Joe’s where there was a flute choir performing (they were terrible – I like to think that the one we had at NNHS was much better). It brought back fond memories of the many years of flute lessons you gave me!
Anyway, this was the only way I could find to contact you. Drop me a quick email if I’ve got the right person – I’d love to catch up a little bit!

Hi,
Your blog is a treasure of curated visual inspirations. I spent hours here 🙂
I also like your blog which I have just discovered. How can I get further info on a photo in one of the kitchens, labeled 2011/08/kitchen-181.png?
It is a very large photo in B & W of people rushing in a train station–it appears to be 6’wide X 4’H.
Dear Betty,
Thanks for writing!
This kitchen hails from the May 2010 issue of Elle Decor, home of actress Ellen Pompeo, interior design by Martyn Lawrence-Bullard. I was unable to find the name of the artist but hopefully this will help you on your search!
best,
danielle

Dear Liz,
So wonderful meeting you tonight! I felt an instant connection with you…so sweet and real…only wish we had sparked up our conversation earlier in the evening!!!
Let’s stay in touch!
My best,

I found your blog on Pinterest and it immediately caught my eye…and soul! I too am inspired by the beauty of this world both natural and manmade. I come from an fine art background, (my grandfather was a sculptor from Italy and I have a BFA from university), and love interior design, photography, oil painting, jewelry making, natural food and animals. Check out my Pinterest pages! Let’s share!— Deb Perugi (Formerly Newton, now Framingham, MA)
Hi Deb,
Many thanks for writing! It’s nice to meet you! Can you send me a link to your Pinterest site? (or how to find you on Pinterest?) I’d love to see what you’re posting!
best,
danielle
